COVID-19

We're still fully open.

From 19th July 2021 our practices will be following Government guidance for health and care settings in England. This states that we should continue to maintain appropriate infection prevention and control (IPC) measures at all our practices.

Our professional bodies and the NHS agree that the COVID19 pandemic is not yet over and have confirmed that we should continue to follow their published guidances and the NHSEI standard operating protocol (SOP) whilst monitoring and adapting as the situation evolves over the following months.

Our practices are a healthcare setting as defined by the NHS and the use of face coverings is strongly recommended for the continued protection of our patients and our staff. This is due to the need for relatively long periods of close proximity during the visit. We have therefore decided that our staff will continue to wear face masks and PPE as well as observing appropriate infection control.

We are also asking all people entering our premises to wear a face covering.

If you are unable to wear a face covering due to health reasons, or from personal choice, the NHSEI SOP requires us to undertake a risk assessment in order to ensure we can take all reasonable steps to identify a practical working solution to provide you with eye care with the least risk.

During this current phase of the pandemic our arrangements will be:

  • Staff will continue to wear face masks and PPE as appropriate
  • Patients will be asked to wear face coverings and use hand sanitiser.
  • We will maintain social distancing within our practices and we will ensure adequate ventilation.
  • We will continue to carry out patient triaging and prioritisation.
  • We may control access to the practices to prevent overcrowding.
  • We will continue to undertake infection control within our premises and sanitise frames and equipment.
  • We ask if you, or anyone you live with, has COVID-19 symptoms, including the revised symptoms associated with the delta variant, do not enter our practices.

We are pleased to remain fully OPEN and look forward to providing our patients with excellent service in a safe environment.
