We have been working closely with our regulatory bodies and NHS England to make sure we are complying with official advice and guidance as we start to return to our full range of services. A small team of our colleagues have been working hard to keep many of our practices open during this time albeit with many changes. Throughout lockdown we have remained available for emergency advice and other essential or urgent optical services.

We are starting to extend these services further as we enter the amber phase of lockdown and are intending to start operating clinics at a number of sites soon although these will initially be for patients in need of urgent and essential eyecare.  This will allow us to offer an expanded service to those who are not considered essential workers but who have noticed a significant change in their vision as well as those in need of replacement glasses or contact lenses.

There will be some changes to how we offer our services in light of new guidelines, the most important being the need to observe social distancing rules and, for the foreseeable future, we will only be seeing people by appointment.

During the initial phase of re-opening we would ask you to understand that we will be prioritising those who have concerns for their vision. If you are overdue for your routine eye test and do not have any concerns we may still be able to offer you an appointment but not necessarily straight away.

Thomas H. Collison Ltd takes the health of our patients and staff very seriously and we would ask you to take any necessary precautions to keep yourself safe during your visit. We are implementing new protocols to make sure we are keeping our staff and patients safe and to help us we ask you to:

  • Attend our practices alone wherever possible.

  • If attending with a child you do not allow them to wander around the practice.

  • Make an appointment – this applies for collections and adjustments as well as sight test or contact lens appointments.

  • Wear a face mask to any appointment.

  • Make use of the hand sanitisers available throughout your visit.

  • Do not browse or touch any frames or products without the supervision of our staff.

  • Bring your own BLACK pen and face mask if possible.

  • Use cashless payment methods.

Thank you for your support during this difficult time, we appreciate your patience and understanding as we take the first small steps out of this current situation.

Due to pressures associated with COVID19 all of our practices are working on an appointment only basis. Additionally some of our practices may be operating to slightly different hours and we would suggest you call the practice before attending.
